Carrying a little stick and speaking loudly in Milwaukee

8.11.2005

For those of you who use Mozilla Firefox, there's a workaround for preventing pop-up ads. While the browser has pop-up blocking built in, some advertisers have recently found a way around the feature.

On a related note, I'm happy to report that a full 40% of visitors to this site are now Firefox users according to my latest stats.

Thanks to Skatz for the link.

I admit that I'm still an I.E. user. I'm certainly not a Microsoft fanboy but I've never felt the need to switch. Unless I’m wrong, Google and Yahoo quick access toolbars don’t work in Firefox and I see that as a major inconvenience. Also, certain sites (i.e. my blog) are viewed differently, which can be somewhat annoying.

The question is what are the benefits of using Firefox besides the obvious answer of destroying Bill Gates evil empire?

I'm so banning your IP address IE boy.

Seriously though, Firefox is just much more versatile aside from the fact that it's more secure than IE. Also, tabbed browsing and the numerous extensions that are available really make it a superior product. I recommend at least trying it.

Also, for those pages that lazy coders wrote only for IE, you can add an extension so that you right-click on the page and have an option to view the page in IE.
