Obama rallies voters downtown

Illinois Senator Barack Obama urged Wisconsin voters to back Gov. Jim Doyle and Democrats at a rally in Pere Marquette Park today.

Scott,
What exactly has Obama done to warrant being considered a presidential candidate? Just curious. I thought we already made a mistake voting our current president that has proven nothing as a policymaker. Wanted to know your opinion here since I just don't get it with this guy.

I think the reason Obama's gotten so much attention is he resonates with people when he speaks. People know he believes what he says, and he talks about issues that affect real world people.

That being said, he's hardly a shoe in to be president or the nominee. He's in his first term in the Senate, and wasn't really tested in his last election. His first opponent dropped out leaving him unopposed until wacky old Alan Keyes ran knowing he had no chance to actually win.
