Milwaukee County agrees to print ballots requested by city: Cost of extras will be split, unused ones will be returned.
Mayor Tom Barrett, despite his nice guy image, proved this week he can be tough when he needs to be. Thanks to his standing up to County Exec Scott Walker, and Gov. Jim Doyle threatening state action, voters can rest easy that wards won't run out of ballots on election day.

How are things looking up there? Is Wisconsin going to come through for us or what?
The polls have been tied within the margin of error for the most part. Turnout's expected to be high with a lot of people voting for the first time. That should help put Kerry over the top in Wisconsin, but we'll see in just over two weeks.
Don't you mean, "Milwaukeeans may rest easy knowing that there will be enough ballots available to vote as many as three times."
You guys must feel good to know that Kerry has Wisconsin cinched due to election fraud.
"Under a compromise, Mayor Tom Barrett agreed to split the cost and to return unused ballots to the Milwaukee County Election Commission to ensure that they are accounted for.... The agreement also seemed to end an increasingly ugly spat that had Walker warning of ballot fraud and city officials complaining of vote suppression."
It seems to me the compromise satisfies the needs of both sides here, but I'm preparing for the inevitable excuses that will arise if Bush loses.
